Meet our Kelly Mini Sports Coaches
Cameron Drake (Director and General Manager)
I have a passion for coaching kids and watching them develop hence the reason I launched Kelly Mini Sports in 2013 with my fellow business partners Jeff Fleming and Steve Martin from Kelly Sports. I spend most of my time working on top of the business by concentrating on developing my coaching staff to ensure we are developing a fun and professional sports program. Our aim is to create a life long love of sports across Australia to as many kids as possible and we are definitly on track to succeeding this goal.
Michael Van Rooy (Sydney Manager)
I have studied Exercise Sport Science and Sport Recreation Management at Victoria University. My love for coaching brought me to Kelly Mini Sports and was a very successfull coach in Melbourne. Due to my success I launched Kelly Mini Sports in Sydney and as such I am the Sydney Manager. Since launching in Sydney I have expanded into over 30 locations Sydney wide and also Wollongong. My aim is to create a life long love of sports across Sydney and beyond.
Simon Bott (Victoria State Manager)
I have completed a Diplmoma in Childrens Services and a Diploma in Sports Development. I started working at Kelly Mini Sports in 2014 and since then have worked my way up to becoming the Victoria State Manager. My main roll is to provide on going support and training to all coaches across the state to ensure a fun and professional program is being taught to all the toddlers and pre schoolers. Oh and of course I want to create a life long love of sports across this wonderful state.
Jerico Gapay (Queensland State Manager)
I started off working for our sister company Kelly Sports in New Zeaand then moved to Australia with my family about 4 years ago. When I moved here I heard about the Kelly Mini Sports program and wanted to get involved right away. I started off working part time and after 12 months worked my way up to launching Kelly Mini Sports in Brisbane and Gold Coast. I am the Queensland State Manager and my aim is to create a life long love of sports across this sunny state.
I have a bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with a major in Health and Physical Education and I have also studied Children's Services. I love to get involved with any sport, and have a particular passion for Soccer. In 2016 I joined the Kelly Mini Sports team with an aim to impart my passion and love for sports onto the next generation. Over 2016/17 I coached Kelly Mini Sports sessions across the Western Sydney Area, as well as managed Kelly Sports in the Sydney region. As a result of my coaching success I have now been selected as the Newcastle Manager.
Adrian Gandolfo - Melbourne
Having a beautiful two year old daughter of his own helps him understand toddlers and can relate to them very well. His passion and dedication is always to see the kids doing well and having fun at the same time to achieve their goal. With his constant training in sports activites for children, Adrian loves being a part of the Kelly Mini Sports team and coaches in Epping, Wallan, Thomastown, Kilmore and Lower Templestowe.
Alex Wade - Sydney
My dad is a former professional soccer player and represented Australia which is obviously where my passion for sport came from! I don't just love soccer though, I also enjoy netball, basketball, AFL and dance. I love watching kdis grow and help develop their confidence through sport. I coach in Wetherill Park, Carlingford and Glenhaven.
Amy Samson - Brisbane
After attaining both my Certificate III in Fitness and Community Coaching I am now in the process of completing a Bachelor in Clinical Excercise Physiology. Needless to say then, I love my sport particularly netball and AFL! My goal as a coach with Kelly Mini Sports is to encourage a fun team orientated environment so kids can learn new social skills, build friendships and hopefully develop their own love for sport. You will find me coaching in Logan Central, Forest Lakes, Mount Gravatt, Woollongabba and Wynnum.
Brayden Brennan - Sydney
Having competed in multiple sports at a representative level for more than 10 years, sport has become one of the major components of my life. I have been privileged to be the eldest sibling of 6, which has grown my passion to help children reach their full potential by pursuing a career as a sports coach. My involvement in sport has allowed me to see the overwhelming benefits that sport brings to the lives of people everywhere and it is my goal to develop a lifelong love of sports for kids in the Western Sydney area.
Emily South - Melbourne
I am simply an avid sports lover and have played basketball since the age of five. I previously studied Exercise and Sport Science and but my love for teaching children made me decide to complete a Bachelor of Education at Victoria University. I coach in Beaumaris, Aspendale Gardens and Mulgrave.
Grant Creswell - Wollongong
I have a huge passion for sports and a passion for developing kids into athletes.I live in Wollongong, New South Wales and my favourite sport is basketball. I follow the Illawarra Hawks and the Newcastle Knights! I haver worked at the AFL Auskick porgram and currently still work as a swim teacher at Learn to Swim. You will find me coaching in Wollongong on Saturday mornings.
Jaymee Harris - Melbourne
After playing football for 4 years, basketball for 10 years and range of other sports, I decided my love for sport was more then just a hobby. Coaching my own girls football team for two years was really rewarding but I wanted to take that next step and turn my coaching into a career. This is when I found Kelly Mini Sports and since then I have never looked back. I am the coach in Langwarrin, Dromana, Frankston South and Mornington so come on down and see how passionate I am.
Kirsten Welham - Melbourne
While completing my Diploma of Sports Development through SEDA, I quickly realised that I wanted to coach children and promote a healthy lifestyle through sports. This led to me woring for Kelly Mini Sports and developing my skills as a coach. You will find me coaching in Sunbury, Craigieburn, Maribyrnong, Melton, Keilor and Greenvale.
Kyle McGrath - Melbourne
I started off coaching for our sister company Kelly Sports and my love of teaching sports to children has led me to begin working for Kelly Mini Sports. I have had a passion for spotrts, with my favourite being basketball, since I was a child and I now aim to pass on this life long love of sports to all the children I coach. You will find me coaching in Doncaster, Warrandyte, Balwyn, Ferntree Gully and Lilydale.
Laura McErlain - Brisbane
I am currently completing a Bachelor of nursing and will be specifying in pediatrics. I have participated in a range of sports throughout my life, with a passion for rowing, skiing and AFL. Through Kelly Mini Sports I am able to share my enjoyment and passion for the sport with our little superstars and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. You will find me coaching in Hamilton, Springwood, Alexandra Hills and Redland Bay.
Pani Moanaroa-Taylor - Sydney
I love sport! I have been around it since I was born. I have played baseball for NSW in 6 nationals... Won a gold medal 3 times and was also in the Australian squad for pitching... I am currently in my final year of my health science degree and hope to complete my masters of either teaching or physiotherapy... The verdict is still out with that one. I love working with kids they are so much fun!! You can meet me in the Hills area with the biggest smile on my face :D
Ryan Longville - Sydney
Ryan's love for sport has seen him participate in a range of sports including rugby, rugby league, soccer, tennis and cricket. As he completes his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce, he wishes to use the knowledge he has gained from his sporting experience to develop the skills of future superstars! You can find Ryan coaching Miranda, Engadine, Cronulla and Strathfield.
Sam Archard - Country Victoria
I currently run sessions out in country Victoria in Shepparton, Wangaratta and Bendigo and I simply love coaching! I'm a country kid at heart with a a passion for all sports and enjoy working with children. I have completed a Diploma in Sports Development and a Certificate III in Sports and Recreation and have volunteered a lot of my time working with primary school aged children. I am also the Goulburn Valley Coordinator for our sister company Kelly Sports.
Sam Lewino - Melbourne
I am a sports lover to say the least! Growing up I found two passions in life, sport and helping other people. After completing a Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation at SEDA, I knew that teaching kids sports and helping them learn was exactly what I wanted to do; so I found a career with Kelly Mini Sports. I run Nunawading, Montrose, Boronia, Ringwood and Vermont.
Samuel Flynn - Ballarat
I am currently in my third year studying a Bachelor of Education with a major in Health and PE. I also have previous experience in Basketball and Cricket as both a player and coach. You will find me coaching in Central Ballarat on Saturday mornings.
Shelley Karbanenko - Ballarat
I completed a nutrition and food science degree at Federation University. I also work in Health Promotion for kids aged 3-5 which I really enjoy. I have been involved in sport my whole life, playing basketball since I was 6 years old led me to play in America! I currently coach in Buninyong, Ballarat, Wendouree and Bacchus Marsh.
Simon D'ouch - Illawarra
I've always loved playing, teaching and talking all things sport, now I have the opportunity to share that passion with the kids! I am a keen rugby union and basketball player and I live in Wollongong. I'm also studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine), find me running sessions at Corrimal, Albion Park, Shellharbour and Kiama!
Tomas Letcher-Nicholls - Melbourne
I have a passion for and background in sports coaching and outdoor education, and currently studying Arts at the University of Melbourne. I have competed in soccer, cricket and marathon kayaking, and believes in getting kids involved in sports from an early age to promote health, well being and teamwork is a must. I work on the weekends at Glen Waverley and Croydon.
Tom Digby - Geelong
I have a Bachelor Degree in Education and I am the Head Coach of Kelly Mini Sports in the Geelong region. I am also the Manager of our sister company Kelly Sports! The opportunity to have a career with the Kelly Mini Sports and Kelly Sports has allowed me to combine my two passions into my dream job. Helping kids learn new skills and watching them progress is very rewarding. You will find me coaching in Grovedale, Lara, Leopold, Ocean Grove, Corio and Newtown.
All our coaches have a complete ‘Working with Children’ check and have had full First Aid training.
