Meet our Kelly Mini Sports Coaches
Cameron Drake - Director and General Manager
I have a passion for coaching kids and watching them develop hence the reason I launched Kelly Mini Sports in 2013 with my fellow business partners Jeff Fleming and Steve Martin from Kelly Sports. I spend most of my time working on top of the business by concentrating on developing my coaching staff to ensure we are developing a fun and professional sports program. Our aim is to create a lifelong love of sports across Australia to as many kids as possible and we are definitely on track to succeeding this goal.
Simon Bott - Victoria State Manager
I have completed a Diplmoma in Children's Services and a Diploma in Sports Development. I started working at Kelly Mini Sports in 2014 and since then have worked my way up to becoming the Victoria State Manager. My main roll is to provide on going support and training to all coaches across the state to ensure a fun and professional program is being taught to all the toddlers and pre schoolers. Oh and of course I want to create a lifelong love of sports across this wonderful state.
Jerico Gapay - Queensland State Manager
I started off working for our sister company Kelly Sports in New Zealand then moved to Australia with my family in 2013. When I moved here I heard about the Kelly Mini Sports program and wanted to get involved right away. I started off working part time and after 12 months worked my way up to launching Kelly Mini Sports in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. I am the Queensland State Manager and my aim is to create a lifelong love of sports across this sunny state.
I have a bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with a major in Health and Physical Education and I have also studied Children's Services. I love to get involved with any sport, and have a particular passion for Soccer. In 2016 I joined the Kelly Mini Sports team with an aim to impart my passion and love of sports onto the next generation. Over 2016/17 I coached Kelly Mini Sports sessions across the Western Sydney Area, as well as managed Kelly Sports in the Sydney region. As NSW Manager, you will find me across NSW coaching both kids and coaches.
Shelley Karbanenko - VIC Head Coach and Administration Officer
I completed a nutrition and food science degree at Federation University. I also work in Health Promotion for kids aged 3-5 which I really enjoy. I have been involved in sport my whole life, playing basketball since I was 6 years old led me to play in America! I currently coach in Buninyong, Ballarat, Wendouree, Bacchus Marsh and Caroline Springs. I am also the administration officer in Victoria where I attend to emails, phone calls and general enquiries.
Pani Moanaroa-Taylor - NSW Head Coach and Coach Training Assistant
I love sport! I have been around it since I was born. I have played baseball for NSW in 6 nationals... Won a gold medal 3 times and was also in the Australian squad for pitching... I am currently in my final year of my health science degree and hope to complete my masters of either teaching or physiotherapy... The verdict is still out with that one. I love working with kids they are so much fun!! You can meet me in the Hills area with the biggest smile on my face :D You will find me coaching in Thornleigh, Carlingford and Glenhaven, as well as training coaches across NSW!
Coach Pani was the recipient of the 'What's on 4 Kids 2019 Outstanding Coach/Teacher for 0-5 years - People's Choice'. We are very proud of Pani's efforts and she is a very deserving recipient of this award!
Adrian Gandolfo - Melbourne
Having a beautiful two year old daughter of his own helps him understand toddlers and can relate to them very well. His passion and dedication is always to see the kids doing well and having fun at the same time to achieve their goal. With his constant training in sports activities for children, Adrian loves being a part of the Kelly Mini Sports team and coaches in Epping, Craigieburn, Lalor, Kilmore, Keilor and Greenvale.
Billy Antoniou - Melbourne
My favourite part of working for Kelly Mini Sports is helping kids to learn new skills in all the different sports that we teach. I'm an outgoing person who loves hanging out with friends and family. I love playing Cricket and I also do powerlifting as a hobby. In the future, I would like to join the police force.
Caitlin Goddard - NSW
Growing up I had such a passion for all types of sport and being active outside. I loved every minute of it and because of this I love to share my passion with children and help them enjoy every second of it just like I did. I believe that if children have an active lifestyle they will develop skills that will ensure them to reach their full potential as they grow up and I am to help them do that! Having a background in coaching sports such as gymnastics, I love to see little kids gain a confidence that helps them blossom into healthy and active kids. You will find me coaching in The Ponds, Penrith and Lalor Park.
Carmine Caruso - Melbourne
I have a very strong passion for sports that is represented through my completed degree in Sports Science, and also through my experience of competing at a high level. I have recently just returned from the USA where I spent 4 years playing Soccer, and am now eagre to ply my skills in the coaching domain. Some of the hapiest moments in my entire life as I remember, are associated with sports, and I would love nothing more than to create an environment in which your children can learn, grow and build their own lasting and joyous memories also. You will find me coaching in Langwarrin, Seaford, Cheltenham, Frankston and Mornington.
Connor McGrath - Melbourne
I've been a big sports person my whole life. I stated playing basketball and football at age 6 and coaching basketball at age 14. I have also completed both coaching and outdoor education subjects at University. This experience has made me a big believer in the benefits of sports for children's physical and social development - as long as they're having fun!
David Walsh - Brisbane
Sport has been important in my life. I've always enjoyed all aspects of sports from playing to coaching. I've coached 8 to 16 year old students in cricket and football the past few years. I've enjoyed the challenge and have learned a lot over time. I want coaching to be a big part of my life and Kelly Mini Sports has offered me an exciting challenge. As I complete my Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology, I'm thrilled about this new challenge and want to pass on my knowledge to help children learn new skills and have fun. You will find me coaching in Indooroopilly, Cornubia, Calamvale and Mt Gravatt.
Georgia Robson - NSW
With a love of sport playing a huge role in my life, I am able to share my passion and knowledge of various sports with the little legends participating in Kelly Mini Sports. Having the ability to help them develop their skills and build their passion for sport is why I enjoy my job so much. I have played multiple sports at a representative level, including swimming, touch football, AFL, hockey and more. Living in Wollongong, I run sessions in Dapto and Wollongong!
Hannah O'Connell - Melbourne
I have recently moved to Melbourne from Dunedin, New Zealand and have loved my time in Melbourne so far. I really enjoy playing sports and being active and love to encourage children to do the same. I have been involved with a lot of sports teams and coaching back home and loving Melbourne! You will see me coaching in Sunbury, Wallan, Greenvale, Bulleen, Greensborough and Lower Templestowe.
Harrison Linning - Brisbane
Sport is a big part of my life and I have been playing Soccer ever since I was 5 years old. I found Kelly Mini Sports as I was interested in working with kids and sharing them my experience and the benefits of playing sports and KMS offers just that. You will find me coaching in Northgate, Mitchelton, Brendale and Chermside.
Jacob Forster - NSW
Playing and coaching sports has always been, and always will be, my biggest passion and my main focus in life. I am currently playing a high level of football (soccer) in NSW as a goalkeeper. I have aspirations to make it to the professional level one day. I represented my high school (Patrician Brothers College Blacktown) in an array of different sports, including soccer, basketball, AFL, swimming and cricket. My coaching experience began at the age of 16 as a goalkeeper coach at the International Goalkeepers Academy at Blacktown. The opportunity to develop the abilities and personalities of children who are beginning their sporting journeys is a challenge that really excites me. I believe I am up to the task. You will find me coaching in West Pennant Hills, Rouse Hill, Thornleigh, Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills and Toongabbie.
Jarryd McFarlane - NSW
I have had a passion for sport my entire life which started with me playing soccer and tennis at age 3! As I grew older I realised that my true passion was coaching which is why I decided to study a Bachelor of sports coaching and administration through the Australian College of Physical Education. Teaching kids sport is an absolute passion of mine and seeing kids grow in ability and confidence is what I strive for everyday through my coaching. You will find me coaching in Parramatta, Baulkham Hills, The Ponds, Gladesville and Strathfield.
Jordan Tootell - Melbourne
I have been involved with sports since the age of 6 playing footy at my local Auskick and also Basketball as part of junior team for many years. Having completed an exercise and sports science degree has further enhanced my awareness of the role sports play in children's lives and love for sports. I have a passion and enjoyment of seeing kids that I coach develop their skill level and also the positive impact sports have as they grow and develop an interest and love of sports. You will find me coaching in Greenvale
Kieren Sturgis - Brisbane
I have always had a passion for sports. Since my high school years, I have coached several teams across a variety of different sports. My favourite sport is soccer, in which I advanced to the Rockhampton Capricornia team 2 years in a row. Following my interest in sports, I have begun studies in a diploma of sports development. My study has lead to my fantastic coaching position at Kelly Mini Sports. In this role, I have shared my passion for sports with young children and helped nurture and develop their sporting interests. You will find me coaching in Kallangur and North Lakes.
Kyle McGrath - Melbourne
I started off coaching for our sister company Kelly Sports and my love of teaching sports to children has led me to begin working for Kelly Mini Sports. I have had a passion for sports, with my favourite being basketball, since I was a child and I now aim to pass on this life long love of sports to all the children I coach. You will find me coaching in Doncaster, Warrandyte, Kew, Balwyn, Wantirna and Lilydale.
Lauren Sinclair - Melbourne
I recently returned from living in Peru where I spent 3 years teaching English to preschool children. I have a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation and have played golf at a national level. I believe it's very important for kids to enjoy sports and develop their motor skills from a very young age. I love working with kids and we have a lot of fun together. You will find me coaching in Eltham and Lower Templestowe
Louise Cross - Melbourne
I am a qualified PE teacher and a mum of two. I’ve always had a passion for teaching sport to children but even more so now that I’m a mum. Love seeing the kids grow and progress each week. You will find me coaching in Moonee Ponds and Hillside :)
Matthew Nichol - Melbourne
I am currently completing an arts and education course at Monash university, with the end goal of being a primary or secondary school teacher. On top of this I am keen fan of playing and watching sports, with particular emphasis on Aussie Rules (footy) and Basketball. Kelly Mini Sports combines both my passion to work with children professionally, as well as staying fit and active through playing sports. You will find me coaching at Oakleigh, Rowville and Lilydale
Melissa Cassaniti - Brisbane
I am currently enrolled in Bachelors of Clinical Exercise Physiology and hope to become a Paediatric Physiotherapist. Since the age of 3, I have been a dedicated tennis player and throughout my life, I have played and understood many sports. As sports and children are two things that I am very passionate about, I love working at Kelly Mini Sports. I enjoy being able to pass on my knowledge to young children and help them develop important skills, not just for sports, but for life. You will find me coaching at Woolloongabba, Coorparoo, Carina, Forrest Lakes and Wynnum.
Nathan Keane - Gold Coast
I am currently studying a bachelor of education. I love helping children getting involved in sports, as I personally believe it helps with health and building relationships. Sports is one of my biggest passion and it has been a major part of my life since I could walk.! I love to compete in all sports although soccer and rugby union are my favourites. You will find me coaching in Coomera, Robina, Burleigh Heads and Benowa.
Nick Wright - NSW
Sport is one of my biggest passions. I love the competitive side to it but most of all love the fun and enjoyment it brings. I currently play for the Newcastle City Blues in the local AFL league, and have also competed in other sports such as soccer, league, volleyball and more. I have a huge passion for helping kids, I love putting a smile on their faces and creating a safe and enjoyable environment for them to have fun in! You will find me coaching in Lambton, Maitland, Cameron Park, Warners Bay, Broadmeadow and Charlestown!
Phoebe Benz - NSW
I have always been involved in some form of sport starting with dancing when I was 4 and progressing into most of the sports you can think of, with my favourites including soccer and basketball. Working with Kelly Mini Sports allows me to help young kids find their own love of sports, and help them to develop their skills in a fun and positive environment. I coach sessions in Corrimal, Miranda, Hurstville, Cronulla and Sutherland.
Rachel Ramm - Bendigo
I started out my career as a Primary Teacher and am very passionate about working with kids to build positive self-esteem, resilience and to help them to develop their skills across a range of areas. Kelly Mini Sports give me the opportunity to do this in a fun and engaging way and seeing the smiles on the kids faces as they participate makes it so worthwhile. Watching my own boys play and learn essential sports skills has sparked my passion to work with other young children to help them find the same enjoyment from physical activity.
Rebecca Howard - Melbourne
I am currently completing my second year of Bachelor of Exercise Science/Sports Management. I have a passion for sports and have participated in various sports such as Football, Soccer, Gymnastics, Rugby and Tennis! I have coached kids in Tennis for the last 5 years and I love introducing kids to the sports I love as well as passing down my passion for exercise. You will find me coaching in Vermont and Mulgrave.
Riley Golden - Brisbane
Sport has been a huge influence on my life especially from a young age. Growing up in Brisbane I had so many opportunities to get involved in sports. It started when I joined my local rugby league team at the age of 6 and I have continued ever since. I'm currently completing my Bachelor's in Psychology with the hope of one day obtaining my Doctorate to then work with kids and young adults. I love to get out and play sports and it's amazing that I get the opportunity to share with you some of my passion. I'm glad to be able to pass on my knowledge to these kids and show them how fun sports can be. You will find me coaching in Kallangur, North Lakes and Strathpine.
Sam Eggleton - NSW
I have my Diploma of Children’s Services and 12 years experience working in Early Childhood Education, as well as 2 young children of my own. I have a keen interest in all sports and have previously played cricket, soccer, netball and touch football. I am also currently completing a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition. I joined the Kelly Mini Sports Team as it allows for me to combine my passion for Early Childhood Education with my interest in health and fitness. I love being able to help children develop into happy, healthy and confident individuals. You will find me coaching in Tuggerah, Hamlyn Terrace and Kotara.
Stephan Achilleos - Melbourne
Playing and coaching sports has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and is an industry I am proud to be a part of. I have over 9 years experience in the industry and have been a part of some excellent journey along the way to Kelly Mini Sports which all provide me with the attitude, ability and knowledge required to be successful. Throughout my journey, I have completed my Diploma in Sports and Recreation and Bachelor of Sports and Recreation Management as well as the opportunities to work with various sports companies over the years with children of all age. Currently, I am the head coach of Moreland Zebras (National Premier League Club) women's soccer team where I have been in the role since the beginning of 2014 and have seen an extraordinary amount of success in my time at the club.
Tomas Letcher-Nicholls - Melbourne
I have a passion for and background in sports coaching and outdoor education, and currently studying Arts at the University of Melbourne. I have competed in soccer, cricket and marathon kayaking, and believes in getting kids involved in sports from an early age to promote health, well being and teamwork is a must. I work on the weekends at Glen Waverley and Croydon.
Tom Digby - Geelong
I have a Bachelor Degree in Education and I am the Head Coach of Kelly Mini Sports in the Geelong region. I am also the Manager of our sister company Kelly Sports! The opportunity to have a career with the Kelly Mini Sports and Kelly Sports has allowed me to combine my two passions into my dream job. Helping kids learn new skills and watching them progress is very rewarding. You will find me coaching in Grovedale, Lara, Leopold, Ocean Grove, South Geelong and Newtown.
All our coaches have a complete ‘Working with Children’ check and have had full First Aid training.
